Organisational Change: Managing Work Stress

This workshop is for staff who have experienced many organisational changes. These changes may have affected the staff significantly and stirred up complicated feelings. Change can make staff feel much more stressed and anxious. This workshop addresses coping with change - and managing anxiety and stress.


How to Work with Difficult Students and the Challenges

This workshop helps staff deal with difficult students and challenging situations in their roles, such as working with students who suffer from poor mental health and may be at risk of self-harm and suicide. The workshop covers managing these challenges, offering appropriate support and referring as necessary.

This workshop looks at the task of learning, which is an emotional one. Tutors play an essential part in creating conditions that help students make the most of their potential, including assisting them to settle down, cope with the stresses of academic life, and support their development.

This workshop looks at the role of the personal tutor, including thinking about the boundaries of this role and when to refer to the skills required to perform this role, managing student expectations and how to build effective relationships. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the challenges of the position.
